Remote filter heads enable relocation of the oil filter where required, due to a lack of space for maintenance down to design or engine changes, conversion of classic filtration systems or kit car installations. They are often used in conjunction with a take-off plate which is fitted in place of the original filter or sandwiched in between the head and filter. Take off plates that feed oil cooling systems can include a thermostatic element that opens flow to the cooler when oil temperature exceeds a set point. As an alternative Flexolite offer a range of in line Oilstats that can be used to provide the same functionality where a thermostatic sandwich plate can’t be accommodated. Remember to use bonded seals where parallel threaded adaptors screw in to filter heads, take off plates and oilstat bodies (and don't seal on a cone).
