Reproduction solid brass AA badge for early vehicles. Introduced from 1906. Originally engraved with the AA founder's signature, Stenson Cooke, and the member's membership number. Later the word Secretary was added beneath the signature, with the the AA's telephone number and telegraphic address added on the rear. These badges are supplied unengraved though, in polished brass or nickel plated brass, with two mounting holes 6.25mm in diameter, 27.5mm between centres. Badge size 105mm diameter with the overall maximum dimension 145mm. 2.5mm thick brass.
From the time before the AA merged with the Motor Union, after which the "wings" began to feature on top of the members' badges.
